Plan for this Week

Hello all!

Well, C2E2 was a blast. I got to hang out with a lot of really good friends. The panel went okay, though I wasn’t exactly … pleased that another panelist on the panel basically put me in a position where I was forced to reveal I have a learning disability. There’s really no excuse for that.

However, meeting and talking to so many wonderful asexual identifying artists more than made up for that small bit of unpleasantness. I really can’t say this enough: I love meeting and talking with asexual artists. All of you are so wonderful and generous with your time and I love hearing you talk about your projects 😀

I hope some of the artists who attended the panel contact me because I want to feature you on this site and share your awesomeness with all the other aces out there.

Okay, so as fun as the convention was, it was also exhausting. I’m completely worn out, people. I need today to recharge my batteries so to speak. My apologies.

Later tonight, I’m going to write up a small signal boost for Kai, who could really use some support at the moment (if you’re so inclined, please visit his YouCaring page and donate if you can: https://www.youcaring.com/kaicollart-1160920). That post will go up tomorrow.

I have no interviews scheduled, so I’ll post another call for interviews on Wednesday.

The Kindle eBooks of my first two novels are still on sale through today (Sere from the Green & Through Storm and Night)

Thanks, everybody! 🙂

Signal Boost: Another eBook Sale

Hello all!

As you all know, I’ll be speaking on a panel at C2E2 this weekend (more information found here and here).
To celebrate, I’ve decided to have an eBook sale on the first two books of my series.

From April 5th – 9th, the eBook of Sere from the Green will be FREE and Through Storm and Night will be 0.99!

If you’re a fan of fantasy starring strong queer women (including adoptees, written by an adoptee) or you know anyone who is, please check out my books. And consider leaving a review. Being an indie author, I’m relying heavily on word of mouth and signal boosts 🙂

Here’s some more information on the books:

Sere from the Green

There is a race that lives among humans, unbeknownst to
them, called shape shifters, those that can shift from human to animal at will.
Many protect the innocent on Earth and act as the eyes and ears of the guardians,
divine beings similar to gods in ancient myths.

Isis is a woman who lives a normal life until the day she
photographs a murder scene for her job. When the body disappears from her
photographs, Isis is determined to solve the mystery. Her investigation
uncovers answers about her own past and sets her on a journey that will change
her life forever.

Through Storm and Night

The Meadows is home to the guardians, a race of beings
similar to the deities in ancient mythology. They watch over the Earth from
their serene lands, keeping everything in check. For millennia, it has been
peaceful. However, in the beginning, there was a great war. A war with Chaos, a
war that is still remembered in the legends of the guardians and shape
shifters.

Months have passed since Isis’, a shape shifter/guardian
hybrid and member of the prophesied Four, narrow escape from the Obsidian
Manor. The Four still haven’t found answers about the mysterious Coop and their
search for the Key has yielded nothing but more questions. When an old alliance
is reforged, the Four are thrown into another mystery. Who are the strange
shape shifters known only as the “glowing-eyes” and what is their
connection to the odd symbol and vanishing bodies?

Once again, this sale runs from April 5th – 9th.

I hope those of you who already have books are enjoying them and thanks for picking them up 🙂

Thank you so much everybody!

Exciting News!

Hello all!

As many of you are aware, I’m an author. I attend a lot of smaller conventions, raising awareness of ace artists while also selling my books. I would absolutely love to do the bigger conventions, but unfortunately, prices are a little too high. It’s a shame because there are a lot of events in Chicago that I feel need to be more ace friendly.

One of my favorite local events is C2E2, where I presented my panel “Where are the Asexual Voices” a couple years ago. I absolutely love C2E2. I love seeing my friends. I love the events and panels. It’s just a fun show. I was able to have a table for a couple years, but unfortunately, the price of a table has gone up and I can no longer afford it. I wasn’t able to attend C2E2 last year, due to being on doctor ordered bed rest after the traumatic ASL experience I was recovering from. I had little hope of going this year. I was invited to be part of a panel that wasn’t picked up for this year’s show, so I thought I would have to skip it again this year.

Enter the wonderful group QueersPlay (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Patreon, YouTube).

Thanks to their awesomeness, Asexual Artists will be at C2E2!

I will be on the panel entitled Beyond the Prison and the Madhouse: The Legacy of Asexuality and Aromanticism in Media (the link takes you to the panel description) and it will take place on Sunday, April 8th at 10:45 a.m.

Because I’m on a panel, I get a weekend pass, so I’ll be wandering around the convention floor. If you are in attendance, feel free to stop me and say hi. I absolutely love meeting followers of the blog (you lot are the absolute best). And please, if you or anyone you know is going to be in attendance, tell them to attend the panel!

I could not be more grateful to QueersPlay for this fantastic opportunity (not going to lie, I actually cried a bit when I was invited. I really love going to this con and seeing so many of my friends). Plus, I have so much respect for what QueersPlay does: making spaces safer for queer nerds. I highly, highly recommend supporting them and their work (follow them on social media!): Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Patreon, YouTube

I’ll bring plenty of Asexual Artists cards, as always. I’m ridiculously excited about this 🙂

Thanks, everybody!
