Hello all!

Once again, I’m low on interviewees. Since I don’t have the time to constantly post calls every single time I’m running low, I’m hoping to use this post as a kind of a reminder:

ASEXUAL ARTISTS IS OPEN FOR INTERVIEWS YEAR-ROUND!

I’m always looking for artists who are on the spectrum to interview. Any and all kinds of artists are welcome.

This is including but not limited to:

WRITERS: all genres and forms are welcome (novelists, short stories, poetry, flash fiction, etc). It doesn’t matter if you’re unpublished, just starting out, a student, a hobbyist, or established. Traditionally published, self-published, small press, etc. You’re all welcome and you all have something to offer.

VISUAL ARTISTS: Self explanatory, any kind of visual art you can imagine (photography, painting, sketching, drawing, sculpture, installation, etc.).

FANARTISTS: Another self-explanatory category. Cosplay, visual, fanfiction, etc. Whatever you do in your fandom (any and all fandoms welcome), you’re an artist.

FILMMAKERS: YouTubers, directors, cinematographers, anything that has to do with making films (short, features, documentaries, etc).

PERFORMANCE ARTS: actors, theater arts, singers, mimes, any sort of performers.

DANCERS: Any kind of dance style you can imagine is welcome here (ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, burlesque, belly-dancing, ballroom, etc.)

MUSICIANS: playing instruments, composing, singing, anything involving music

CULINARY: maybe your medium of choice is food. If so, you’re welcome here.

CRAFTS: any sort of craft you can think of (sewing, knitting, crocheting, candle making, jewelry making, etc.)

All levels of artists are welcome: whether you’re a student or a professional, just starting out or already established. If you create, you have something to offer and therefore I want to interview you 🙂

If you’re still unsure whether or not your art qualifies (there’s a 97.9% chance it will), and your question isn’t answered in the F.A.Q., please contact me at laurenjankowski27@gmail.com

If you want to be interviewed, please email me at the same address (laurenjankowski27@gmail.com)

This site continues because I get requests for interviews. If the interviews run out, this site will remain as a resource 🙂 Updates will continue as long as there are aces out there willing to be interviewed.

Thank you, everybody.

Hey everyone!

Still open for interviews. And I just want all you amazing, talented, wonderful artists who have already been interviewed: you are making such a difference. Giving an interview may seem like a small thing, perhaps even insignificant, but believe me when I say that so many aces have found comfort and inspiration in your words. I have received numerous messages about how much this blog means to people, especially to aces still coming to terms with their identity. That’s a truly wonderful thing 😃

So please, keep those interview requests coming!

Hey everyone!

Still need more interviews, but just a reminder: I don’t respond to interview requests via reblogs or comments. If you are interested in being featured on this blog, please email me: laurenjankowski27@gmail.com

All ages, races, religions, genders are welcome. If you’re on the ace spectrum and you create, I would love to interview you for this blog.

ALL aces are welcome on this blog! It doesn’t matter if you’re a hobbyist, a professional, a dabbler, a student, aspiring or experienced. Your art is important. Your voice is important.

So please, keep those interview requests coming 😀 <3

I Don’t Give A F*ck

I Don’t Give A F*ck:

kodacchromes:

The crowdfunding campaign is finally a go! Go ahead and take a look at it, donate, like it, and share!!

A future interviewee has an IndieGoGo Campaign that just opened and is looking to raise funds for a comedy series, created by ace POC and featuring ace POC.

Here’s the description of the series from the campaign page:

“I Don’t Give a F*ck is a dramatic comedy web series that centers on the perspective of two women of color who are trying to figure out how to navigate life and relationships from an asexual and sex-positive lense. It is a show that will not only further the already lacking visibility of asexual characters in mainstream media, but highlight other sexual and romantic spectrums that are often not discussed candidly. Crowdfunding this series will create the opportunity for these stories to be told.”

It’s no secret that the ace community has a real problem when it comes to centering white narratives. What little coverage of asexuality is in the mainstream tends to focus entirely on white asexual people. The community needs to do a better job boosting the voices of ace POC and supporting their work. Supporting a series like this is so important and it helps examine asexuality through a more intersectional lens. Plus, the series just sounds awesome and funny in general. It’s definitely something I’m going to watch.

Bottom line: getting this series funded is super important! So go there, donate, and signal boost the hell out of them! They deserve it 🙂

Thanks, everybody!

Hi everyone,

As most of you know, I was slated to graduate December of 2017. To do this, I had to register to an internship a little bit late and past the census date which resulted in some confusion with my financial aid and though they provided me with the funds to afford all three classes I took my final semester, their records ended up showing that I only had two classes, which means that now my school is expecting about $1300 back from me. Money which I, obviously, don’t have right now, otherwise I wouldn’t have borrowed it in the first place. I’ve called the school a few times and have been assured that there’s nothing I can do about it other than pay it, so my hands are tied.

I mostly do freelancing from home and $1300 is a little more than a month’s worth of work for me which is a lot, especially when I’m trying to save up to move out of state by next summer.

I’m hoping to get a little bit of help with this remaining balance that I have in order to get my degree from the school. Otherwise, they’ll keep it on hold and I’ll never be “technically” graduated which is an issue, especially when applying for jobs.

I know it’s close to the holidays at the moment, but any little bit will help. I anticipate having to pay most of it myself, but ultimately, I will take any assistance I can get from anyone willing to lend me a hand. I also plan on e-mailing some special little holiday drawings to anyone willing to donate, just so I don’t feel like I’m taking something for nothing.

Thanks for any help and I’d appreciate anyone who shares this fundraiser as well. Feel free to leave your e-mail if you’d like a little holiday drawing from me. 🙂

Happy Holidays!

– TJ

Hi everyone!

I know I usually do signal boosts on the weekend, but I’m traveling and completely forgot (eek! Bad me, bad)

Anyway, TJ is just a phenomenal artist, incredible talent, and all-around great person who I interviewed a while back. They’re SO close to being able to graduate from college, but have run into some financial difficulties. They’re currently trying to raise enough funds to finally graduate with a degree.

I know money is incredibly tight, but if you can spare even a little, I know TJ would super appreciate it.

Come on, everyone! Let’s help this amazing ace artist get their degree! 😀

Thanks, everybody!

Signal Boost: Asexual Panel Opportunity

Hello all!

I was contacted by a future interviewee who had a special proposal and requested a signal boost. Her name is Emie and she’s with Happy Endings Productions. She has performed all over the world and is going to New York for a panel next, which is what this signal boost is for.

Here’s some more information:

Any
Aces in the New York area interested in attending this ACE Evening I’m
arranging for Utopia School @ Flux Factory late January?

I’m
particularly looking for local aces (of any part of the spectrum) interested in
being part of the class, in the panel discussion or
facilitating/assisting/doing/showing something as part of the 2h window we have
to focus on asexuality!

I’m
very open to allow more aces to use this platform, so please let me know!
